Honey Wheat Bread Recipe

Honey Wheat Bread Recipe

There’s just something about freshly baked bread. YUM. This whole wheat bread gets just the right touch of sweetness from the Royal Honey, making it perfect for sandwiches, toast, or simply enjoying warm with a little creamed honey.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups warm water
- 1/3 cup oil (vegetable or canola)
- 1/3 cup Royal Honey
- 1 Tbsp instant yeast
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 7-9 cups whole wheat flour (we prefer our local Cascade Milling organic flour products)

Instructions:
1. In a mixer, with the dough hook in place, pour in the warm water and the instant yeast.

2. Add the oil, Royal Honey, and 3 cups of whole wheat flour to the bowl and mix on low until incorporated together.

3. Add another 3-4 cups of whole wheat flour (vary the flour depending on the wetness of the dough, add more if the dough is sticky and wet). Add the salt.

4. Adjust the mixer to the second speed. Let the mixer knead the dough for 6-8 minutes.

5. Oil a small spot on the counter or table and grease two loaf pans. Add some oil to your hands to make the next steps easier.

6. Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape into loaves the size of your pans.

7. Place the loaves into two greased bread pans. Lay a cloth towel over the dough and let it rise until doubled in size (about 20 minutes).

8. While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 350 °F. When the dough has risen, bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes. The tops should be nice and golden.

9. Promptly remove the loaf pans and rub a stick of butter on the tops. Let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Serve slices of this wholesome whole wheat bread with honey and enjoy!

Fresh homemade bread is one of life's simple pleasures. A warm slice topped with butter and a spoonful of Royal Honey (raw or creamed) is hard to beat. We hope this recipe finds its way into your kitchen and becomes one you come back to again and again<3
